Peppermint was used in ancient times for thousands of years by the Egyptians and then the Romans to optimize a healthy digestive system. This still applies today in the form of teas, some medicines including herbal remedies. It is refreshing and stimulating and when used in a vaporiser it soothes, refreshes, revives and clears the head, clarifies the mind and promotes alertness. It must be used with caution when in contact with the skin as it can cause a tingling sensation. Peppermint blends well with Lavender, Rosemary, Fennel, Lemon, Tea Tree and Marjoram.
