- They have been fairly traded from India and are used by the Tibetan Refugee community in India.

Sandalwood is a threatened species of an indigenous tree in South India and the harvest of these trees is controlled by the Governments. It is illegal cut or harvest these trees and therefore illegal to export to the UK. Finding real sandalwood mala in the UK is almost impossible and the purchase price will reflect this. Our mala are made to a high standard and do hold their fragrance, but are are not original.
